Way back in 1976, a couple of computer buffs were chewing over an idea for a company in a pub in west Cork. But what to call it . . . they hadn't a clue. For want of any alternative, they named it after the village in which they were staying.
Years passed and the company became a success. But the Margin wonders if the founders had known the future of Baltimore Technologies, whether they would have been so cavalier about naming it . . . especially as so many people now confuse its origins due to its emphasis on business in the United States and think it began life in Baltimore, Maryland.
