Baltimore Technologies, the Irish Internet security software specialist, has been won an award for its leading electronic security product.

The NSS Group, an independent network testing group, presented its Gold Award for Baltimore's UniCERT product after it had independently evaluated a range of public key infrastructure (PKI) products from leading vendors.

UniCERT is the first product to receive the Gold Award, and it is the only product that received the NSS's highest level of accreditation. Other PKI products evaluated were developed by Entrust, IBM, and RSA Security. The products were subjected to a week-long technical review where they were analysed and their pricing strategies were assessed.
