Bank of Ireland has appointed Mr Denis Donovan as head of Treasury in place of Mr Tony O'Shea, who has retired from the group and is to pursue other business interests.

Mr Donovan, a director and chief operating officer of international business at Bank of Ireland Asset Management, joined the group in 1985 from the Central Bank. Mr O'Shea joined Bank of Ireland eleven years ago and was head of Treasury since 1992.
