Bank of Ireland has awarded 68 scholarships under its Millennium Scholars programme which funds third-level education for those who face economic, social or physical barriers.
The latest round of awards was presented in Dublin on December 19th to students from a variety of backgrounds. Awards range from €3,200 per person up to a maximum of €38,000.
Presenting the awards, Bank of Ireland chief executive Brian Goggin said that although the students all faced significant obstacles that had stopped them from achieving their educational goals up until now, they also had motivation, commitment and talent.
