Bank of Ireland Asset Management (BIAM) has reorganised some of its senior staff as it attempts to recover ground since the departure of key staff last year led to the loss of valuable mandates.

Pat Lardner has been appointed Australasia division regional director, replacing Brendan Donohoe, who has been made head of the north America division. Mr Lardner is a member of the division's strategy review group and was head of institutional relationship management before he became a director in 2001.

His outgoing place as head of the division's Irish institutional business will be filled by Peter Wood, currently head of Portfolio Construction and Global Support. Mr Wood is a BIAM director since 1996.

He will in turn be replaced by Charles Lamb, who has been with BIAM for six years.

"All three individuals have considerable experience that will be invaluable to us as we develop the business," said BIAM chief executive Kevin Dolan.

BIAM's spokeswoman said the division planned to recruit two additional staff.

Bank of Ireland said in March that the asset management arm had lost €13.5 billion in funds under management since four senior investment staff were headhunted by another group.
