Bord Failte was honoured this week at the ENTER 99 Web Awards for the travel and tourism industry in Innsbruck, Austria. It won in the national tourist board category where the runners-up were its Spanish and Egyptian counterparts. ENTER is recognised as the most prestigious website award in the travel and tourism industry.

Bord Failte website (www.ireland.travel.ie) which has become its most important source of queries about Irish tourism. It now plans to expand the website to include a mapping and route planning service in conjunction with the Ordinance Survey of Ireland. A series of multilingual additions for overseas markets and a number of new e-commerce services are also planned.
