The Irish Brokers' Association (IBA) has added more content and easier access to its website, which can be reached at www.irishbrokers.com.
It includes details of 600 brokers registered with the IBA throughout the Republic and contains information which may be of assistance in selecting and contacting a broker.
The website has two sections. The public section gives consumers information on their rights and, using the search engine, they can find out where the nearest broker is.
It also gives telephone numbers for all of the regulatory bodies that a consumer can call if they wish to check a broker's status and lists the documents they should receive when taking out an insurance policy.
It also offers a quotation service, where forms and e-mails can be sent to a broker to get quotes for motor, household and travel insurance and life assurance.
The private section is for IBA members and can only be accessed by a password. The website is supported by Royal & Sun Alliance, Hibernian, Allianz, Irish Life, Eagle Star, Eagle Star Life, New Ireland and St Paul.
