BUDGET coverage in The Irish Times this year will be online and interactive, as well as incisive and comprehensive. Tomorrow, the newspaper will include a 12-page colour Budget supplement while, from tonight, The Irish Times On The Web will feature on the Internet running coverage on this major event of the financial year.

The newspaper: The Irish Times colour Supplement tomorrow will provide all the essential reports and analysis. In addition, the supplement will include a user-friendly guide for taxpayers to work out how the Budget provisions affect them.

Online: The Irish Times on the Web begins its coverage of the Minister for Finance's speech shortly after he completes it late this afternoon.

All the provisions will be reported in detail and we will have regular updates on reaction and comment throughout the evening, including an online vox-pop. In addition to an online version of the Budget supplement, The Irish Times on the Web, in association with accountants Price Waterhouse, will also contain Tax Net, an interactive feature which allows taxpayers to work out approximately the effects of Mr Quinn's proposals on their incomes.

Tomorrow morning, The Irish Times on the Web will host an online question and answer session. From 9 a.m., online readers can submit their questions to a panel featuring Cliff Taylor, Finance Editor, Mark Brennock of our political staff and a tax expert from Price Waterhouse.
