On Wednesday, TW Time Machine, (BBC 1, 7.30 p.m.), concludes with a look back at some of the budding inventors who have appeared on Tomorrow's World over the past three decades.

One of the most successful, James Dyson, first featured in 1975 with his Ballbarrow. But it was his vacuum cleaner, the Dyson DCO1, that put him in the millionaire class.

Those in the retail trade, and shoppers who love big department stores, shouldn't miss the latest fly-on-the wall documentary series starting on BBC 1, Thursday, 8.30 p.m. London's Selfridges has allowed the cameras in to film while it is undergoing a massive £100 million refurbishment. In this first episode there's the launch of designer underpants and a clearance sale of 8,000 pairs of shoes.

East: Making a Killing, BBC 2, Thursday, 7.30 p.m. shows how endangered species are being slaughtered for the fashion industry and includes a report on the world of Islamic financing in Britain where bankers promise money without interest and unethical trading is strictly forbidden. Islamic law also forbids investment in companies involved in pornography, alcohol or gambling.

Finally there's a one-off documentary on Tuesday on UTV, 10.40 p.m. called Britain's Un- bearable Bosses. It examines the many forms of problem boss, including bullies and those who intimidate through harassment, humiliation and psychological cruelty.
