CBT, the Dublin based software company quoted on the NASDAQ market in the US, has announced first quarter profits of £1.2 million, an increase of 217 per cent.
Turnover for the first three months of the year was £7.7 million, compared with £4.3 million in the first quarter of 1995. The company added 30 new titles to its list of products, bringing the total to 195, and also signed a "multi million dollar" contract with US telecommunications company US West, according to chairman and chief executive officer Mr Bill McCabe.
CBT also signed the largest contract in the company's history with the expansion of its contract with EDS, the world's largest computer services company. The contract with EDS is now worth $8 million, making EDS the company's largest customer.
CBT produces interactive training software for business. The software is used to train people in the use of complex computer software packages. Demand for such products is growing as companies seek to reduce the number of staff employed in training and the complexity of desk top computing products increases, explains Mr McCabe.
