The founder and chairman of Iona Technologies, Dr Chris Horn, has joined the board of an Irish technology firm that develops billing and rating software for e-commerce companies. Dr Horn has accepted a position as non-executive director of Sepro, a Dublin-based firm that recently raised £4 million (€5.1 million) from Irish venture capitalists and private investors.

The directorship is Dr Horn's first in an indigenous technology firm aside from his involvement with Iona Technologies, the firm from which he stepped down as joint chief executive last year. But he confirmed to The Irish Times that he was talking to several indigenous technology firms about taking up similar positions.

"I want to share some of the experiences which I've gained with Iona with other Irish companies," he said.
