A strategically located car park at Grand Canal Square in the heart of the Dublin’s south docklands is to be sold by tender next month.
Peter Rowan of agents Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is giving a guiding price of €3.25 million for the 150-space car park which will be of interest to operators, owner-occupiers and investors.
The basement car park extends to 10,000sq m under Grand Canal Square and is operated by Q Park Management on a rolling monthly basis at a fee equivalent to €224,688 per annum.
Short-term car park charges are €3 an hour between 8am and 7pm; €3.50 an hour after three hours and €10 for evenings or overnight.
There is also a €24 charge for 24-hour parking. Access is via a ramp entrance from Chimney Lane, a road leading on to Pearse Street, while the exit is on to Macken Street.
LSH is handling the sale for the Dublin Docklands Development Authority which is being wound up and its powers transferred to Dublin City Council.
Grand Canal Square, flanked by the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and the Marker Hotel, is among the largest paved public spaces in the city centre.
It is also one of the most vibrant business and leisure areas and it will become even busier in the future because of plans by Facebook and William Fry to relocate to new office accommodation just off the square.
