€5.5m sought for Ballivor plant

AUCTIONEERS and valuers PJ Broderick Co are seeking €5

AUCTIONEERS and valuers PJ Broderick Co are seeking €5.5 million for the former NEC semiconductor manufacturing plant in Ballivor, Co Meath, now for sale by private treaty.

The 12,500sq m (135,000sq ft) industrial building, close to the M4 and the M3 motorways, includes a ready-to-go plant which would suit various forms of production or as a distribution centre. It closed in 2006. The agent says the plant’s buildings are mainly of steel portal frame construction with concrete block infill walls, concrete floors and metal deck cladding the walls and roof. The extensive offices are also of a high standard. There is an on-site car park for 500 cars.

The agents say that the 18.8-acre property may be sold as one or two lots with the buildings, car-park and green area in one lot and a five-acre plot with an entrance on to the Kinnegad road forming another lot.
