Office Market:A new Irish aid information and volunteer centre is to be opened by the Department of Foreign Affairs in Findlater House on Dublin's O'Connell Street.
The Office of Public Works has taken a four years and 11 months lease on 707sq m (7,601sq ft) of the ground floor of the building at a rent of €345,000 per annum. The letting means that all of the 4,287sq m (46,142sq ft) in Findlater House will shortly be occupied. Eircom leases the upper floors of the building which was acquired by Shelbourne Developments in 2005.
The Irish Aid Information and Volunteer Centre is expected to function as a high profile exhibition space to demonstrate where and how Irish aid resources are being deployed around the world.
The fit-out of the centre is to be designed by Irish architect Tom De Paor who represented Ireland in the seventh Venice Biennale of Architecture and whose previous projects include the design of the renowned Eden Restaurant in Temple Bar.
