Senior members of the Construction Industry Federation will meet the IMF-ECB-EU troika today to outline their concerns about the impact of austerity measures on the industry.
The federation said yesterday it would outline the low level of activity in the construction sector, its concerns relating to reduced public infrastructure investment and the need for more reform of wage-setting mechanisms in the construction industry as part of an overall competitiveness adjustment across the Irish economy. Federation president Matt Gallagher and chief executive Tom Parlon are due to meet representatives of the troika this morning.
