THE Royal Liver Retail Park on the Naas Road in west Dublin has been given a new lease of life with the arrival of Irish discount retailer BuyLo, now trading out of a food store of 1,207sq m (13,000sq ft).

BuyLo is part of the Cork-based Barry Group, which also operates a number of other successful brands including Costcutter, Carry Out Off Licence and Quik Pick convenience stores.

It is BuyLo’s seventh outlet and the first in the Dublin area. Jim Barry, managing director of the Barry Group, said it is planning to open a further six stores in various locations around the country by the end of 2011.

The Royal Liver Retail Park, now owned by a Meath-based investment consortium, is anchored by the British DIY chain Homebase. Other tenants include Harry Corry, Bargaintown, Furniture District and Carpet Right. Reid Furniture also has a store in the park but is not currently trading from it.

Cian McMorrow of letting agent Bannon said the arrival of BuyLo coincides with expressions of interest from a number of retailers about locating in the park. Bannon is currently marketing a store of 1,393sq m (15,000 sq ft) close to the Buy Lo unit. One of the attractions of the park is its 550-space surface car park with easy access off the Naas Road.
