DISCOUNT MULTIPLE Dealz and Dove Dry Cleaners are to open new stores in Stillorgan shopping centre in south Dublin as part of the continuing campaign by Treasury Holdings to bolster rental income in the 46-year-old complex.
The latest lettings will bring to 21 the number of new lettings this year in the centre, which was to have been redeveloped before the property market collapsed.
Meanwhile, Tesco has just completed a €3 million upgrade of its store in the centre. Vodafone has also opened a new shop and An Post is to start the fit-out of another unit shortly.
Dealz is to create 30 jobs when it opens a 743sq m (8,000sq ft) unit this summer. The multiple has opened 11 Irish outlets since last August. Dove’s new dry cleaning business in Stillorgan will be its fifth outlet.
Niall Kavanagh of Treasury said that to facilitate Dealz, they had to seek planning for an additional 464sq m (5,000sq ft) at ground level and first floor space for a restaurant. Footfall at the centre had increased by 4 per cent since Christmas.
