ARCHITECTS ACTING for the businessman Denis O’Brien have lodged a planning application to demolish the rundown Canada House office block at the junction of St Stephen’s Green and Earlsfort Terrace in Dublin 2, and replace it with a larger building.

The existing five-storey block is to be replaced by a seven-storey building with a gross floor area of 6,607sq m (71,117sq ft) of office space.

There will also be a double basement and 41 car-parking spaces.

The fifth and sixth floors will have terraced set-backs and there will be a landscaped courtyard to the rear of the 0.15-hectare site.
