TESCO IS continuing to strengthen its position in the Dublin food market with plans to open another express unit in the well-located Donnybrook Mall on Morehampton Road in Dublin 4. It will be the 28th store in the company's express portfolio.
The UK multiple will be paying a rent in the region of €75,000 per annum for a shop extending to 378sq m (4,068 sq ft). The unit was previously occupied by O'Hagan Design.
Tesco has taken a long lease of the shop where the other traders include Unicare Pharmacy, Marian Gale, Eddie Rocket's and Lyk-Nu dry cleaners.
Niamh Walsh of Lisney, who acted for the landlord, said that with parking to the front and a busy passing trade, the mall provided a terrific opportunity for any retailer. Natalie Brennan of CBRE advised Tesco.
Lisney is currently marketing two further shops in the mall, one of them with a ground floor area of 40sq m (430sq ft) and a first floor of 27sq m (290sq ft) for which a rent of €25,000 is being sought.
Also available at a rent of €35,000 is a shop with 112sq m (1,205sq ft) on the ground floor and 90 sq m 969sq ft) overhead.
The lettings are being carried out on the instructions of Billy McCann of PwC, who was appointed receiver to Padholme by the Ulster Bank. Padholme is owned by property developer Sean Dunne.
