GALWAY DEVELOPER O’Malley Construction is to mark its 40th year of house building next Saturday by offering customers a €10,000 discount on its new homes on the east and west sides of the city.

The financial concession will only be available on Saturday to those calling at the company’s headquarters at Augustine House on St Augustine Street in Galway city.

Showhouses will be open on the same day in three separate developments.

In the two schemes on the eastern side of the city – Boireann Bheag and Reilean in Roscam – three-bedroom duplex units will be available from €205,000 while four-bedroom semis will be priced from €229,500. Both house types have clear views over mature parklands and Galway Bay.

In a third development at Leargan, off the Western Distributor Road, O’Malley will be taking bookings for three-bedroom houses costing from €205,000 and four-bedroom units priced from €225,000.

All three schemes are within easy reach of the city centre.

O’Malley’s novel approach in its anniversary sales campaign has already attracted a number of visitors to the showhouses on all three sites in the run-up to Saturday’s anniversary sale.

The company has always prided itself on its high quality finishes.

Helen Casserly of O’Malley Construction said that although there was only a limited supply of quality new houses available in Galway, there was little sign of new construction activity for the foreseeable future because sale prices were so low.

The O’Malley company has also been a player in the Dublin residential market since the early 1990s, having completed a string of new developments including Ballsbridge Wood on Shelbourne Road in Ballsbridge, Sunbury Gardens in Dartry and Symphony House on Adelaide Road.

It is currently involved in a joint venture with Dorville Homes on a large apartment scheme in Wyckham Point, Dundrum.
