€1.75m for Camden St shop

A butcher's shop which has traded at Camden Street in Dublin since 1866 is to be put on the block by Douglas Newman Good. It is likely to make around €1.75 million.

The four-storey building at 71 Camden Street has been owned by the same family since 1920. It has a net internal area of 288sq m (3,106sq ft) and a rear entrance with obvious development potential.

Spar for Tallaght scheme

Convenience store operator Spar is to anchor a new mixed-use development on the Greenhills Road in Tallaght and will open for business this month. The multiple will be paying around €122,500 for a unit of 325sq m (3,500sq ft).

There are seven commercial units in Priorsgate along with 198 apartments and 250 car-parking spaces. Other retail units are occupied by Bank of Ireland and pharmacy chain Unicare.

Natalie Brennan of CBRE is now quoting €483 per sq m (€45 per sq ft) for two remaining units ranging in size from 250-300sq m (2,691-3,229sq ft). Priorsgate was developed by leading contractor P Elliot Co.

New Look for Castlebar

UK fashion retailer New Look continues to move into new locations. Its latest outlet will be in Castlebar where it is to trade opposite Next in an extension to the Hopkins Road retail scheme.

The multiple will be paying a rent of €300,000 for 1,114sq m (12,000sq ft) along the busy main street where Argos, Sasha and Staunton's Pharmacy are also based.

Karl Stewart of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, who handled the letting, was also involved in letting a shop at the Fairgreen centre in Mullingar to Dorothy Perkins.

It will be paying a rent of €200,000 for a unit of 418sq m (4,500sq ft) and will join Penneys and Marks Spencer in the centre. Hugh Markey of Lisney was joint letting agent.

 €4m for Talbot St building

Solicitor John Shutte is to sell his eight-year-old building at 84 Talbot Street, Dublin 1, after securing planning permission to use the ground floor for retailing.

Agent Pembroke McDonnell is quoting a selling price of €4 million for the building which has a net internal area of 409sq m (4,400sq ft) and a ground floor retail area of 71sq m (764sq ft). Alternatively, it can be rented at €140,000 per annum. There is separate access to the upper floors. The rates on the building this year will be €18,854.
