€1.2m for Limerick car park
DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is seeking €1.2 million for Mount Kennett car park in the centre of Limerick city. It is rented by Q Park Management at €120,000 per annum under a 25-year lease from 2009. The car park has 266 parking spaces over five levels and is used as a preferred facility by the nearby Jurys Hotel. It is accessed from Mount Kennett Place, close to the junction with Henry Street. John Buckley of DTZ says he expects local and national interest in what is a long term investment.
Pandora opens three shops
Jewellery retailer Pandora is to open outlets at Dundrum Town Centre, The Square in Tallaght and the Blanchardstown Centre in Dublin. The company will shortly have 12 outlets in Ireland and is seeking suitable premises on Henry Street. It has agreed to pay around €130,000 for a 43sq m (465sq ft) shop in Dundrum, €110,000 for a unit of 69sq m (700sq ft) in Blanchardstown, and €75,000 for a trading area of 85sq m (900sq ft) in Tallaght. Paul Shine of agent Knight Frank handled the acquisitions for Pandora which sells jewellery in 55 countries.
€10 per sq ft rent for D1 shops
Four retail units, including the former Stringfellows nightclub in the Parnell Centre on Parnell Street in Dublin 1, are to be offered for rent on the instructions of KPMG’s Kieran Wallace who has been appointed receiver to Cambourne Investments. The Parnell Centre houses the city’s largest cinema complex with 17 screens being operated by Cine World.
Stephen McCarthy of Savills said the former nightclub would be ideal for a large discount trader who could take advantage of a low rent of around €107 per sq m (€10 per sq ft). With double height units ranging in size from 445 to 1,335sq m (4,790 to 14,370sq ft) he said there was scope for a restaurant, gym or nightclub. The facilities include a 500-space car park, a bar and fast food outlet.
€700,000 for Blackrock site
HT Meagher O’Reilly is seeking €700,000 for a site of 0.67 of an acre and €300,000 for an adjoining semi-detached house on Newtownpark Avenue in Blackrock, Co Dublin. There are two access points onto the site which was previously used as a concrete depot. The agent says the site would be ideal for a small residential development or either as a petrol station, service garage, convenience store or drive-through restaurant. The same agent is looking for over €750,000 for a detached industrial and office building on Corrig Road in Sandyford Industrial Estate, Co Dublin. The 1,173sq m (12,626sq ft) industrial and office building stands on a site of half an acre, including 16 car-parking spaces.
New directors at Dublin agency
Dublin estate agents GVA Don O Buachalla has appointed Fergal Burke and Tom Kirby as directors of the company. Another staff member, Daniel Cronin, is to become an associate director. Burke advises clients on disposals and acquisitions while Kirby heads up the property management department. Cronin specialises in valuations and rent reviews. Meanwhile, Limerick-born Lisa McInerney has joined the company from McNally Handy.
