The landmark 4-star Kilkenny River Court Hotel, situated on the banks of the River Nore in the heart the medieval city, has been purchased by Wexford-based hoteliers and construction company The Neville Group for € 9 million. The sale will save the jobs of the 80 people employed by the hotel, with the new owners anticipating that staff numbers will remain the same.

The Neville group is a third generation family construction business founded by William Neville in the 1940s. Its flagship development is in Cherrywood, Dublin. The Neville Group also owns two other renowned hotels – the Royal Marine in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin and the Riverside Hotel in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.

The River Court Hotel will be run by directors, Seamus, Brendan and Therese Neville.
