One of the best addresses in Dublin city, number 1 Fitzwilliam Square, is due to change hands next month.

The Lisney agency is quoting a guide price of €3 million for the Georgian house which may be converted back into a private home like the one next door (number 2) owned by businessman Tony O'Reilly.

About three other houses out of the 59 on the street are also used as family homes. If number one is not bought for similar use then the likelihood is that will become a corporate headquarters for a medium sized firm.

It has a floor area area of 379 sq m (4,079 sq ft), all of it in commercial use, with the exception of the top floor which is laid out as an apartment. At the rear there is an 18 metre long town garden that leads to a former coach-house, now in commercial use with a floor area of 117 sq m (1,260 sq ft).
