THE RECENTLY OPENED Millfield town centre in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, is one of four projects shortlisted for the best architectural project in 2011 at the forthcoming CMG Building & Design Awards.

The centre was designed by AD Wejchert Partners whose other retail schemes include Blanchardstown Town Centre and the Gaiety Centre in South King Street.

The other architectural projects in the running for the award are Cherry Orchard Community Childcare (BCDH Architects); the new engineering building at National University of Ireland, Galway (RMJM/Taylor Architects) and Wexford County Council HQ ( Arthur Gibney& Robin Lee Architecture).
