Planning&Development: Galway developer John Lally is to seek planning permission for a mixed-use residential and commercial development at the former Dunnes Coal Yard off Baggot Street Bridge, Dublin 4, which he bought last summer for €12 million.

Lally is looking for permission to build a six-storey block over a basement car-park to accommodate 19 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, a retail unit of 108sq m (1,163sq ft) at ground floor level and 1,363sq m (14,671sq ft) of office space.

Meanwhile, CB Richard Ellis has recruited Fergus Keane from Hamilton Osborne King as its director of Irish investment in its London office. Irish investors are believed to have spent in the region of €5 billion on UK commercial property last year.
