TWO DUBLIN men have pleaded not guilty to stealing a laptop and a phone belonging to a daughter of former billionaire Seán Quinn.

Gary Kinlan (35) and his brother Keith (36), from Summerhill Place, had been charged in August and made their second appearance at Dublin District Court yesterday.

Both men have been accused of stealing a bag containing a HP laptop and an iPhone 3GS, property of Aoife Quinn, at Loftus Lane, Dublin 1, on July 28th last.

Judge Bryan Smyth read out the charges to the pair and each opted for a non-jury trial in the District Court. They then pleaded not guilty.

Judge Smyth noted that “nothing untoward” was involved in the case of an alleged theft of Ms Quinn’s laptop case and its contents from a car.

The pair have entered not guilty pleas to other charges.

Keith Kinlan denies possessing stolen property consisting of an Irish passport in the name of Hamish Adams and a New Zealand passport in the same name, at Isaac’s hostel, on Frenchman’s lane, in Dublin 1 on August 15th last.

Both also deny stealing a laptop and two DVDs from a woman, Amy Quirke.

Defence solicitor Yvonne Bambury told the judge it was expected that the hearing in relation to all the charges would last about 45 minutes.

Both were remanded on continuing bail to appear again for trial on November 12th.
