ShoppingCentresRents starting at €430 per sq m (€40 per sq ft) are being quoted for new shops under construction in the Village Centre at the Rathborne development in Ashtown, Dublin 15.
The commercial centre is but one part of a huge €100 million development underway on the Pelletstown lands off the Navan Road beside the Royal Canal.
The developer is Castlethorn Construction. The Village Centre is located adjacent to Ashtown train station and access to this commercial hub is complemented by a comprehensive road network via the N3 and M50.
The Village Centre forms an integral part of the overall development of the Pelletstown lands that will see more than 4,000 new homes constructed in the not-too-distant future.
The nearby catchment (including over 2,500 homes being built on the neighbouring former Phoenix Park Racecourse) delivers a consumer base of more than 74,000 people living within a seven-minute drive, the developers say.
There will be 15 retail units fronting onto attractive pedestrian-friendly boulevards. The development includes a bar and restaurant adjacent to the Royal Canal.
Agent Bannon Commercial has indicated that there is strong interest in the shop units from a variety of retails.
The Village Centre will include a convenience store, pharmacy/medical centre, cafés, video store, a selection of food outlets, betting office, hair and beauty unit, florist and dry cleaner. Units are expected to be ready for completion this autumn.
