Development:The mixed commercial/residential Southpoint development on Main Street in Bray, Co Wicklow is well underway and its front elevations are now clearing the surrounding hordings.

Three of the six available retail units are reserved with H J Byrne Auctioneers now placing the remaining three on the market with occupation expected by July 2007.

The development is at 60-64 Main Street and is being finished in brick in keeping with surrounding buildings at the "Town Hall end" of this busy town.

It offers significant frontages to Main Street but also Parnell Road as it occupies the corner site.

Kinsella Investment is the developer behind the Southpoint scheme. Together the six units offer 1,084sq m (11,668sq ft) of retail space and are designed by architects Horan Keogan Ryan (HKR).

The three remaining units, as individual offerings, measure 187sq m, 191sq m and 208sq m (2,013, 2,056, and 2,238sq ft).

These can be reserved singly or in any combination of the three.

The residential component on upper floors provides for 37 mainly two-bedroom apartments. Access to the development is via the Parnell Road frontage. The underground car parking spaces are also reached via Parnell Road. The apartments all feature German kitchens and Italian bathrooms.

The seaside town is enjoying something of a renaissance with a level of development not seen since the rush to build that followed the arrival of the railway in 1854.

The agents point, as an example, to the Town Hall Quarter - the new Civic Centre which hosts the Mermaid Theatre, HSE, district and circuit courts and Bray Town Council.
