Engineering group Kentz had contracts worth $2.46 billion (€1.93 billion) on its books at the end of last month, the company told shareholders yesterday.

Chief executive Chris Brown told shareholders at its annual general meeting the group experienced good growth in the first four months of the year. He expected its full-year performance to be marginally ahead of expectations.

At the end of April, the company’s backlog or value of contracts yet to be completed stood at $2.46 billion. At the end of December it had stood at $2.4 billion.

“The board of Kentz remains positive that the outlook for the business in 2012 and future prospects in both existing and new markets remain strong,” an interim management statement from the company said.
