TESCO is looking for a tenant for its former supermarket at Carton Park shopping centre in Maynooth, Co Kildare, now that it has decided to delay construction on the second phase of the development.
Almost two years ago the UK multiple moved to its largest Irish store, a building of 10,848sq m (116,766sq ft), alongside a range of other shops at the centre.
Heatons is already trading out of a double-sized unit there and other tenants include Sportsworld, Next, 02, McDonalds drive-thru, a post office and Conroy’s pharmacy. Five other shops remain available.
Louise Donnelly of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald will be handling inquiries about the former Tesco store which extends to 5,574sq m (60,000sq ft) and will be available on a five to seven-year lease. Sub-division may be considered.
She said the new Tesco supermarket was one of its top performing stores in Ireland.
When the second phase of the scheme is eventually embarked on it will provide an additional 10,400sq m (111,945sq ft) of shopping in nine separate units.
