The four-star Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort at Blessington lakes in Co Wickow has come on the market through DTZ Sherry FitzGerald at €5 million.
It is being sold on the instructions of receiver Paul McCann of Grant Thornton.
Tulfarris, which is set on 220 acres and includes an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Patrick J Merrigan, is a 67-bedroom modern hotel with a further seven bedrooms in a fine 18th century manor house.
It is a well-known wedding and conference location with good banqueting facilities.
The hotel is 30km south of Dublin city centre and easily accessible from the N81. It is in a remote setting with views of the Wicklow Mountains and Vartry reservoir.
Developer Paddy Kelly lost control of Tulfarris after Anglo Irish Bank appointed a receiver in 2009 to collect loans of €25 million.
A hotel asset management services group was subsequently appointed to run the facility.
Kelly bought Tulfarris in 2003 for €17.5 million.
The estate was once home to legendary rugby player Karl Mullen.
Kelly and his business partners invested about €60 million in developing Tulfarris into a resort aimed at families.
