NewDevelopments: Ready access to Dublin Airport and the Port Tunnel are sales inducements for the Dublin AirPort Logistics Park near Finglas, Dublin 11. Rohan Holdings is the developer behind the Logistics Park project.
The Dublin AirPort Logistics Park was formerly used as a "pay and play" golf course but was re-zoned WD (Warehouse and Distribution) in the latest Fingal County Council Development Plan.
Construction is well underway on two large distribution and logistics facilities for two substantial companies, Eason and DHL, on the 148-acre park. Sales figures remain confidential for these two deals.
The Park sits close to Dublin Airport, the Port Tunnel and lies within 800m of the M50/M2 junction. It has a significant profile onto the recently opened M2 and boasts a private dedicated access directly onto the motorway from the park.
Rohan Holdings argues that Dublin's ever worsening congestion problems are a key factor that will help the park given its ready access to key infrastructure routes. Both Eason and DHL will be able to exploit this in support of their distribution and warehousing operations, the company adds.
The DHL facility measures 14,500sq m, (156,076sq ft) including 1,250sq m (13,454sq ft) of offices on a site of 13 acres.
The Easons facility measures more than 16,500sq m (177,604sq ft), including 3,700sq m (39,826sq ft) of offices on a site of nine acres.
The two are expected to provide more than 500 jobs in the park.
Both facilities are due to open in the first half of 2007. Rohan Holdings has more than 30 years of experience developing space for international operators and a 148-acre park adjoining the airport.
Colliers Jackson-Stops have been appointed marketing agents and are welcoming inquiries for design and build facilities in excess of 3,000sq m (32,291sq ft). Significant stamp duty savings will form part of design-and-build arrangements.
