A total of 16 community-based projects will receive £750,000 (€952,986) in grant aid from the Dublin Docklands Development Authority under its community development project initiative 2001. The projects range from the building of a clubhouse for a sports club to the purchase of minibuses for local community groups and the conversion of a grass football pitch to an all weather surface.
Since the initiative began, the authority has provided grants of £1.25 million to 24 projects in the docklands.
