Irish and international investors will gather in Dublin this week for AngelSummit which is taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.
The conference will explore the investment landscape, how some of Europe’s most recognisable companies have local roots and how they are transforming the tech scene beyond their communities.
Keynote speakers include Dave McClure of 500 Startups, Anne Ravanona of Global Invest Her, Brian Caulfield of Draper Esprit, Jason Ball of Qualcomm Ventures and Ekaterina Steube of Seedrs.
Mr McClure will be discussing the rising start-up markets and sectors across the world, and why investors should track the stunning innovation coming from unexpected places.
A number of Irish start-ups, from sectors including fintech, internet of things, mobile commerce and health tech, will have the opportunity to demonstrate in the Startup Showcase area, pitch their products to attendees and meet investors from Ireland, Europe and the US.
The participating start-ups were selected by a panel of advisers and investors from Dublin and the Startup Angels team, including Gene Murphy of Bank of Ireland, Eoghan Stack of the DCU Ryan Academy and Leslie Jump and Mack Kolarich of Startup Angels.
“Dublin’s start-up community is home to a wealth of talent,” said Leslie Jump, founder and chief executive of Startup Angels. “We’re thrilled to have the unique opportunity to not only highlight some of the best upcoming companies in the area,” he added, “but also to build relationships between local investors and advisers and the entrepreneurs who will most benefit from their influence.”
