CORDIANT, the British advertising agency which owns the Saatchi & Saatchi network, yesterday confirmed it was likely to pay a final dividend this year the first return to shareholders in five years. Pre-tax profits for the six months to June 30th hit the top of City expectations at £15.5 million, compared with a loss of £29.8 million in the first half of 1995. Earnings per share were 2p compared with the loss of 12.9p last time.
