A prolonged period of uncertainty in the world markets may mean that euro interest rates could be more volatile than anticipated. This is one reason why Irish corporate treasurers must become more risk focused, according to the authors of a new book from AIB Corporate and Commercial Treasury and Arthur Andersen.
The authors, Mr Cormac Murphy and Mr Donal Forde, examine the role of the corporate treasurer and how it needs to widen as EMU dawns. The book, New Horizons for the Corporate Treasurer, also deals with the Republic's buoyant economy, the problems it is causing and how to cope with them.
