CRH's five executive directors shared a total remuneration package of £3.9 million (€4.96 million) in 1999, a 10 per cent increase on the previous year. The directors shared basic salaries of £1.79 million, with the average salary per director at £359,774. The company does not disclose details of each director's remuneration package in its annual report.

The group's 14 non-executive directors, shared total fees and other emoluments of £536,681, a 16 per cent rise on 1998. CRH also paid £45,000 to retired directors for consultancy and other fees during 1999.
