CRH is one of two firms that have been granted rights to negotiate the purchase of up to 80 per cent of Poland's main lime producer. CRH will bid through its Polish subsidiary, cement-maker Cementownia Ozarow. The other firm shortlisted is the Belgian group, Carmeuse. Trzuskawica, a state-owned lime producing plant based in the Kelice region, has 1,300 employees and a 30 per cent share of the market.
