AN action for damages taken by a retired Co Dublin publican against a firm of brokers over the handling of a £200,000 investment was settled at the High Court yesterday.

The hearing opened in the High Court on Wednesday but yesterday Mr Justice McCracken was told a settlement had been reached. The case was adjourned until next term for implementation of the settlement, which was not announced in court.

In the proceedings, Mr John O'Sullivan of Castle Drive, Clondalkin, Co Dublin, had sued O'Driscoll O'Neill (Life and Pensions) Limited with registered offices at Herbert Place, Dublin. He alleged gross misrepresentation by the brokerage firm regarding an investment of £200,000. The company had denied the claim.
