Deutsche International (Ireland) will set up a global accounting centre in Kilkenny, employing 50 people initially but with a longer-term jobs target of 100.
The centre - planned for the IDA Ireland Business and Technology Park - will start operations immediately. Initial recruitment, for graduates and school-leavers, will be completed in six months. People with banking, insurance, accounting and general financial skills are required, the Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney, said in Kilkenny yesterday.
The centre will provide global accounting services for the Deutsche Bank group and third parties. "With the establishment of this centre by Deutsche, following quickly on the recent InFoScore investment and the announcement by VHI in April of its new business centre, which will create 120 jobs, we are making significant progress in providing new high-quality employment for the people of Kilkenny and the surrounding area," Ms Harney said.
Deutsche International (Ireland) is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG, the euro zone's biggest bank. It is the largest funds administrator in the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin, employing 240 people and with $75 billion assets under administration.
