THE multi million pound plan to redevelop Dublin's docklands is to be sent to the Government by the end of March, the Customs House Docks development authority said yesterday.
Releasing a progress report for the project, the architects said it would breathe new life into an area which has been in decline.
The committee was reluctant to release any of its estimated costings, but stressed that capital for the venture would be acquired mainly from the private sector. Under the legislation governing the proposal, the Docklands Authority will be able to raise £50 million from the capital markets.
Designs for the 22 acre site include new office buildings, residential apartments, underground and multi storey car parks, as well as retail and educational facilities.
