Dublin company Advanced Computer Distribution (ACD) has secured a contract with Seagate Technology to distribute its disc and tape storage products in Ireland, writes Madeleine Lyons.Seagate is the world's leading manufacturer of disc drives with nearly $9 billion in revenue for its fiscal year in 1997. ACD will now distribute Seagate products through its 300 resellers nationwide. It is expected the contract will lead to four new jobs at ACD, which currently employs 16 people.

Plans by Seagate for a 1,000 job, £150 million development in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork, have been put on hold - although the company insists the project will go ahead in six months.
