SINGAPORE Airlines is launching a weekly Boeing 747-400 freighter service to Dublin. The new service will begin in October 27th and will fly Singapore, Dubai, Dublin, Copenhagen then return via Dubai and Singapore.

The airline's British cargo manager, Mr Barry Gibson, said the service was a direct result of the hi tech industry's two way traffic in moving goods between south east Asia and Europe. Many hi tech assembly plants and manufacturers are based in Ireland.
