DAA names Andrea Carroll as head of sustainability

State airports company DAA has appointed Andrea Carroll as its new head of sustainability.

Ms Carroll is moving to the company responsible for Cork and Dublin airports from Amazon Web Services, where she worked in global sustainability, with responsibility for carbon, climate and biodiversity projects.

Before that she worked at the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, where she developed the Energy Academy, a free online aid used by businesses in the Republic.

Ms Carroll recently completed a master's in business administration at Griffith College Dublin. She already holds an honours degree in geography and environmental management from University College Dublin. She chaired Natural Capital Ireland until 2020.
