Etihad brings China closer
SHANGHAI, THE powerhouse of Chinese commercial and financial activity, comes that bit closer to Ireland with a new service from Etihad Airlines via Abu Dhabi.
The five-times-a-week connection, increasing to a daily service from April 15th, means a short stopover before the onward journey. Economy seats are priced at €726 and business class from €1,416.
Hotel costs are rising
AVERAGE DAILY hotel rates in January increased year on year in all four major global regions, according to STR Global. Prices in the Americas increased by 3.7 per cent, with New Orleans showing the highest year on year rise at 24.1 per cent. European rates were a modest 1.7 per cent up with Tallinn showing the highest rise at 24.7 per cent. Asia/Pacific had rate rises of 9.8 per cent.
