Edelman Interactive Solutions and e-business implementations firm Ebeon have introduced a global joint venture to develop Internet business applications and solutions. The partners are both investing £2.5 million each (€6.4 million) over the next three years to develop the business which they forecast will employ 200 people, with 100 jobs in Dublin.
Offices will open in Dublin, London, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, Silicon Valley and Chicago. Timing for the introduction of the investment and revenue projections will be decided within months, according to Ebeon's chief executive Mr Bill Donoghue.
Ebeon, formerly known as Trinity Commerce and 51 per cent owned by Eircom, plans to list on the US Nasdaq market early next year. Established in Dublin in 1994 - Eircom took its stake in May 1999 - Ebeon has offices in Dublin, London, New York and California and employs 200 people.
Ebeon develops commercial applications of digital technology for clients offering products or services over the Web and mobile telephones such as business to customer, business to business, web portals, e-procurment, e-fulfilment and mobile commerce. Its Irish customers include Eircom, Eircell, Bank of Ireland and VHI.
Edelman Interactive Solutions, a division of Edelman Worldwide, was set up in Dublin in 1981. The joint venture will give Edelman "a skill set we don't already have and allow us to give clients a wider and deeper service", managing director in Dublin Mr Hugh Gillanders said.
