Eircom and the British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB) have launched a new marketing agreement.

The joint promotion includes a free digital set top box and mini-dish from Sky, high-speed Internet access and discount packages on telephone costs from Eircom. Eircell customers will now have access to Sky Sports content on their WAP phones.

Eircom is also in negotiations with BSkyB about joint opportunities in relation to launching and developing services over DSL (digital subscriber line) technology, using the telecom's network.
