Elan shareholders get their chance

Summer takes command this week with very little in the way of corporate news due

Summer takes command this week with very little in the way of corporate news due. Elan holds its annual general meeting today in Dublin's Burlington Hotel and the new executive team can expect a rough ride from shareholders.

Another group of besieged investors - those in Deutsche Telekom - will learn about the state of the company on Wednesday when it reports interim figures. The figures themselves are expected to be reasonably good but shareholders will have to wait until the third quarter figures in November for the results of a strategic review following the recent departure of Dr Ron Sommer.
