State-owned ESB’s international consulting arm plans to hire 80 engineering and technical staff over the next five years to support growth that will see revenues double over the same period.

ESB International, which provides energy-related engineering and consulting services in overseas markets, said yesterday it was planning to recruit 80 staff to cope with increased demand from the global energy industry.

Managing director Ollie Brogan said there had been “massive investment” in energy infrastructure across its key markets, pointing out that it had recently won new contracts in the Middle East, Turkey and South Africa.

“We are on track to double turnover from our international operations over the next five years and will need skilled people from all the main engineering disciplines to support that growth,” he added.
